Week of January 19,  2015

 

Dear Parents,

 

FARM PICTURES: Thank you to all the parents who sent in pictures of their child at Centennial Farm. I would like all the pictures to be in by this Friday so we can complete our bulletin board for our Open House on Sunday.

 

OPEN HOUSE: SSJ”S Open House will be held this Sunday, January 25, from 11:00-1:00. The children are looking forward to showing you their classroom and the farm art projects and book they have completed. I am looking forward to seeing all of you. Grandparents and friends are also invited.

 

KINDERGARTEN REGISTRATION: TYKE parents do not have to attend kindergarten registration unless you have a TYKE student coming next year. You will receive a registration packet when the rest of the school gets theirs.

 

Here is an overview of this week:

 

Religion: We will be talking about our Church family and how we are all called to be followers of Jesus.

 

Math : We will get an introductory lesson on counting by 2’s.

 

Science: We will continue to talk about farm animals and their products.

 

Ÿ  SRA READING: Topics for this week will include.

Ÿ  Review of our sight words, a, is, the, and, see, in, at, on.

Ÿ  Introduce the new word family____ug.

Ÿ  Introduce the sound of long Aa.

Ÿ  Introduce Pre-decodable #9.
