Dear Parents,

Thank you to all the parents who attended our Open House on Sunday. The children were so excited to show off their classroom and their special books. I hope you were able to visit the Art Show in Colman Hall and a few of the other classrooms. I appreciate all the families that sent in pictures of Centennial Farm for our bulletin board.

Here is an overview of this week:

Religion: We will be talking about Baptism. In our “Seeds” lesson the children will recognize ways God has given us to find peace and make peace. We will review the importance of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr and his dream for America. In the Gospel the children will appreciate that Jesus came to heal people who were far from God.

Math: We will continue to sort objects by attributes.

Science: We will talk about farm animals with a focus on the life cycle of the chicken.

Ÿ  SRA READING: Topics for this week will include:

Ÿ  Introduction of pre-decodable #8 which emphasizes the word at.

Ÿ  Introduction of the letter and sound of Hh.

Ÿ  Review of the beginning and ending sounds of Dd, Mm, Pp. Aa and Ss.

Ÿ  Introduction of a new unit: “Five Senses.”

Have a great week!
