Week of October 19, 2014
Dear Parents,
FAMILY PICTURE: Thank you to all the parents who sent in
family pictures. Our bulletin board is ALMOST complete. If you have not sent in
one yet, please do so.
SPANISH: We are fortunate to have Cristina Botas, a former
TYKE Mom, teach us Spanish on Tuesdays at 2:00. The children are enjoying
learning their numbers and colors in Spanish. Mrs. Botas will also be sharing
the culture and celebrations of Mexico with us. We will be learning about the
Day of the Dead and the symbolism behind this celebration.
iPads: We started using our iPads this past Friday. Each child
was able to spend about 15 minutes on the iPad during our center rotations. We
are using the “Little Writer” app to help them learn the proper way to make
letters and numbers, and a Math app. Some of them used the “Funny Plate” app to
learn about balancing out a meal.
