Week of October 13, 2014
Dear Parents,
FAMILY PICTURE: Thank you to all the
parents who have sent in a Family picture. If you have not done so already
please send in one soon. Our bulletin board display will be up most of the
year.
TRUNK OR TREAT: This is a special event
for the children and a chance for them to see all their friends in costume.
Please check the school website for more information. We will NOT be wearing
costumes in the classroom on Halloween.
VOLUNTEER HOURS: If you would like to
earn hours at home, I have a project for you! We have a large collection of
felt figures that go with our Bible stories and I would like to have a parent,
or Grandparent select the figures and setting pieces to go with our
stories. You would probably earn @ 1 ½ hours for this project. It would probably not
be weekly. See me if this is something you would like to do.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will be talking about acts
of kindness and Sunday’s Gospel.
Math: We will be talking about our daily
schedule and sequencing
our daily routines.
Science: We will be talking about eagles.

READING:

what a poet does.
Ÿ Analyze
word pairs to determine which has more letters.
Ÿ Introduce
the High Frequency Word___the.
Ÿ I
will be meeting with each child to assess them
in the following areas for our upcoming SLA.
Ÿ Identify
both upper and lower case letters.
Ÿ Recognize
numbers 1-10 out of sequence.
Ÿ Count
objects to match numbers 1-10.
Ÿ Identify
shapes and geometric solids.
Ÿ Print
their name correctly.
Ÿ Completes
a pattern.
Ÿ Match
rhyming pictures.
Recite our 3 daily prayers and make the
Sign of the Cross correctly.
Do not worry if they have difficulty with
some of these items. We will work together to improve their skills.!
