Week of October 27, 2014
Dear Parents,
HALLOWEEN PARTY : The TYKE class will be having a Halloween Party on Friday.
The children WILL NOT be wearing costumes. We are looking forward to a great
celebration.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will be talking about how we
can take care of God’s creation. In our “Seeds” lesson we will be talking about
St. Martin de Porres, St. Elizabeth Ann Seton and St Kateri Tekakwitha as well
as the Sunday Gospel.
Math: We will be graphing objects that
sink or float and exploring the concepts of long, short and tall.
Science: Frogs and geese.
SRA
READING: Objectives for this week will include:
Introduction
of pre-decodable #4.
Introduction
of letters Ff, Gg, Hh, Ii, and Jj.
Folktale
“The Lion and the Mouse.”
Discussion of what they like to share
with friends.
We will be making Halloween Books using
their sight words and stamps. Please have them practice reading their sight
words with flashcards and their pre-decodables.
