Week of March 31, 2014
Dear Parents,
THANK YOU: Thank you to all the parents
who helped serve lunch and supervise the children on Friday, our Retreat Day.
The children had a wonderful day and they
were very excited to hear Jana Alayra sing in the church. She was awesome!
‘ANIMAL ALPHABET PLAY”: The TYKERS will
be performing our “Animal Alphabet Play” on Friday, May 2nd,
a half day. Our play will be at 9:00 A.M. in Mrs. Tucker’s room. Their “script”
will be coming home today as well as the words to our songs. They need to
memorize their poem and become very familiar with the words to the songs. You
can download the songs. “Dig Down Deep” and “Dia a Dia” are by Jana Alayra and
the others are by Mary Rice Hopkins. I will give you the costumes I have this
week also. Please let me know ASAP if you know your child will NOT be here on
May 2nd.
PROGRAM; I need a parent to design and
print up programs for our play. I have several samples from years past that you
may borrow. You can get service hours for this project. See me if you are
interested in doing this.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will be talking about Lent
and attending Stations of the Cross on Friday.
Math: We will continue to talk about
measurement. We will be working on writing our numbers correctly, and
recognizing 30-40.
Animal of the Week: Owls.
SRA READING: We will be introducing the
beginning and ending sound of Gg and reviewing the other letters and sounds. We
will continue to practice our printing and writing sentences using our sight
words.
Have a great week!
