Week of March 17,2014
Dear Parents,
THANK YOU: Thank you to Teri Thies and
her helpers for hosting our St. Patrick’s Celebration. The children had fun
with their leprechaun “traps.” We appreciate all the parents who sent in food
and supplies.
THANK YOU: Thank you to Eliana Ferrari’s “Nona”
who talked to us about the country of Italy. We enjoyed her homemade biscotti,
and nutella roll. We loved looking at the pictures of Italy and dancing the
Tarantella.
RETREAT: The TYKERS will be participating
in the school wide retreat on March 28. The theme is “Peace and Justice” and
one of our activities will be making a poster with our “school” family. Please
have your child bring in a magazine picture illustrating peace and justice in
our world to put on the poster.
END OF THE QUARTER: The end of the third
quarter will be March 21. I will be testing the children on alphabet and sound
recognition, their sight words, and numbers 1-30.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will be talking about the
events leading up to Easter Sunday and attending the Stations of the Cross on
Friday.
Math: We will be talking about the
sequence of numbers 1-30.
Animal of the Week: Monkeys
SRA READING: We will be introducing the
High Frequency Word____can and adding beginning consonants to __ig, and __an.
