Week of February 24, 2014

Dear Parents,

REMINDER: If you have any concerns about your child’s academic progress or peer relationships, please schedule a conference with me. I am available most afternoons after 3:10.

FISH FRY: The first Fish Fry of Lent will be next Friday, March 7, and TYKE is one of the host classes. We really need your help with baked goods for the desert table and also as servers. It is a great way to earn service hours and meet other school parents. Please consider helping out by working at the Fish Fry or by attending with your family. Contact Teri Thies, our Room for more details.

Here is an overview of this week:

Religion: We will be talking about the sacrament of Baptism and St. Joseph.

Math: We will be doing some simple addition and learning the numbers 20-30. Please review these numbers at home as well.

Animal of the Week: We will talk about the lion.

SRA Reading: We will continue to add beginning consonants to our word families. We will introduce long I, and the High Frequency Word_____have.

We are starting to write numbers in class and it is helpful if they practice at home. The children enjoy writing on dry erase boards.

Small boards can be purchased at Target. Please make sure they start all numbers and letters at the top.
