Week of April 22, 2013

 

Dear Parents,

 

RETREAT DAY: Our TYKE class will be participating in Sts. Simon & Jude’s School Retreat this  Friday, April 26. We will begin our day by attending Mass with the rest of the student body at 8:15 Mass. Following Mass we will watch a short play presented by our fifth grade students on “The Good Samaritan.” Then we will go to our classrooms to work on some crafts. The children will be joining their “School Family” for a cheese pizza lunch and other special activities in the afternoon. Our day will end with a prayer service. Please read the Principal’s eletter for more details. If you are able to help serve the lunch, please meet in the Colman Hall kitchen at 11:00. We are looking forward to a very special day. THE STUDENTS HAVE FREE DRESS ON THIS DAY. PLEASE READ THE  FREE DRESS GUIDELINES WHICH ARE IN THE SSJ HANDBOOK ONLINE.

 

ANIMAL ALPHABET PLAY: Please continue to have your child practice saying their poem SLOWLY AND IN A LOUD VOICE.

 

Here is an overview of this week:

        Religion: We will be listening to some Bible stories and  focusing on “The Good Samaritan.”

        Animal of the Week: Rhino, Quail and Skunk.

        Nursery Rhyme: “Humpty Dumpty.”

SRA Reading: W will be reviewing our High Frequency Sight Words and beginning and ending sounds.
