SCHOOL CHRISTMAS PLAY: The TYKE children
will be participating in the school play on Thursday evening, December 20.
Please read the principal’s online newsletter to find out more details. Have
your children practice the words to “Away In A Manger,” which I sent home last
week.

We will continue to talk about Advent and the Nativity.

of the Week: Kangaroo
Math:
Sorting , classifying and sequencing
SRA READING: We will be moving at a fast
pace as we start Unit 5. We will finish up introduction of the alphabet and
begin the phonics part of our program. The first sound we will introduce is the
sound of Ss (sizzling sausages). As we
learn new sounds your child will be asked to tell us the beginning letter of
different words. This activity should be reinforced at home. We will also introduce
the next High Frequency Word,____is. Please have your child practice reading
their 6 sight words, and talk about the sounds of the letters we learn in class. We will be blending 3 and
2 syllable words.
Scholastic book order deadline is on this
Friday, December 7th.
Friday is a full day of school.
