Week of December 10, 2012

Dear Parents,

CHRISTMAS PLAY: The TYKE students will be wearing our angel costumes for the school play, which will be presented the evening of December 20 in the church.

If possible, the girls should wear white tights and white blouses or a turtleneck the night of the performance. The boys should wear white shirts (the school shirt is fine) and light colored pants. I will send home more information next week.

The holiday season is here and the children are very excited in anticipation of Christmas. At rest time 8-9 children are falling asleep instead of the usual 2-3. Many of them appear overtired during the academic portion of the day. Please make sure they get adequate sleep each night and eat a good breakfast before school.  Also, some of them consistently complain about their lunches and do not want to eat them. Please discuss lunch menus with your child and decide what is healthy and what they are expected to eat.

       Religion: We will continue to talk about Advent.

       Math: Classifying and sorting.

       Animal of the Week: Kangaroo and Lion.
