Week of September 17,2012

Dear Parents,

 

It was great seeing all of you at Back To School Night.  If you have any questions or concerns about our program or your child’s progress, please do not hesitate to email me or talk to me when class is dismissed.

 

Please contact me if your child ever has a problem with another student or some activity causes them concern.

 

UNIFORM GUIDELINES: Please read the uniform guidelines in our School Handbook which is online, especially the section on socks. The children should be wearing crew socks and the girls may not wear finger nail polish.

 

FAMILY PICTURE: Please send in a family picture for our bulletin board. We will begin our unit on Families very soon.

 

Here is an overview of this week:

          Religion: We will be talking about God’s gift of water.

          Math: We will continue to talk about patterns.

          Science: We will continue to talk about Apes.

SRA Reading: We will introduce our first pre-decodable and we will send it home next week. Please put them in a special place so your child can review them throughout the year. I encourage you to help your child decorate a shoe box or other container just for their pre-decodables. If they bring one in to share, I will give them a big sticker.

 

SCHOOL PICTURES: School pictures are being taken this Wednesday, Sept. 19.  Please send in the order envelope with payment on that day. Children must be in their school uniform. NO PE UNIFORMS.

 

SCHOLASTIC BOOK ORDERS:

Book orders are due this Friday.
