Week of May 20, 2015
Dear Parents,
TESTING:
We will begin testing your children on their letters, sounds, sight
words, and number recognition 1-40 in preparation for their last SLA.
ABC COUNTDOWN: Check the school website
for the daily special activities as we wind down the year.
HALF DAY: This Friday, May 22nd,
is a half day. Class will be dismissed at 12:00p.m. The students going to stay care need to bring
a lunch because Choice Lunch will not be on campus. TYKERS need to bring a
snack for our morning break.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will continue to talk about
the life of Mary and work on a religion workbook that goes along with “Seeds.”
We will also be talking about Bible stories from the Old Testament and watching
the accompanying videos.
Math: We will be reading a Math Readiness
book on time.
Science: We will be talking about the
tiger, and vulture.
SRA READING: Topics will include the
following:
Ÿ Recognition
of the letter and sound of Qq.
Ÿ Recognition
of the letter and sounds of long Ii and Ee.
Ÿ Review
of our High Frequency Words with emphasis on ---was.
Ÿ Introduction
of pre-decodable #16.
