Week of September 20, 2014
Dear Parents,
NURSERY RHYMES:
A list of Nursery Rhymes is enclosed in your child’s Tuesday Folder this week.
We will be learning them in the order they appear on the paper. We will also be
learning several others throughout the year. Please review them with your
children at home.
VOLUNTEER HOURS:
I would like to have a wooden box constructed to hold our wooden blocks. It has
to be a specific size to fit into the space we have available. You would get
volunteer hours for your time and the cost of materials. Please see me if you
or a Grandparent are interested in completing this project.
LIVE SCAN: Please complete the live scan
process so you are able to participate in class parties and assist with any
other duties.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We
will be starting “Seeds,” a liturgy based Religion
Curriculum this week. The children hear
the Sunday Gospel in their “Seeds” class and explore through stories and
activities how they can live the Gospel in their families and communities.
Math: Our
objectives will be: Correctly name shapes regardless of their orientations or
overall size. Have the children create patterns. Explore the sequence of
events.
Science: We
will finish our discussion of Bears and start the Camel Family.
SRA READING: Our objectives this week
will be:
Use illustrations to draw conclusions.
Ask and answer questions about a story.
Relate story illustrations to story text.
Be introduced to their 1st
pre-decodable.
Have a great week!
