Week of June 2, 2014
Dear Parents,
OVERDUE LIBRARY
BOOKS: Please return any library books
this week. We will NOT be checking out
any more books this year. Remember you
can purchase a SSJ library pass for
summer use, and the Main Library in Huntington Beach has a wonderful summer
program. If your child is reading
fluently, you may want to encourage him or her by checking out first readers.
E NEWSLETTER: Please read the Principal’s Newsletter online
for more information regarding end of the year school activities.
SUMMER “HOMEWORK.”
Please have your child continue to read their pre-decodables and their
sight words over the summer . Practicing their printing by writing sentences
using those sight words is great preparation for Kindergarten. Writing their
numbers to 50 will also give them a jump start to the curriculum next year.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will continue
to learn about Bible Stories .
Animals: Tigers,
Vultures, Wolves, Foxes, Yaks and Zebras will be our animals til the end of the
year.
SRA: year. I will be
testing your child on the 20 High Frequency Words, beginning and ending sounds,
and numbers 1-30. We will also be using our Math and Science Big Books for the rest of the
year.
Have a great week!
