Week of November 18,2013

Dear Parents,
THANK YOU: Thank you to all the parents
that attended the SSJ Auction on Friday evening. We appreciate your support! I
am sure you all had a wonderful time.
NUTCRACKER SUITE: The kindergarten and
TYKE classes will be seeing a “mini” performance of the “Nutcracker “ on
Tuesday afternoon of this week. An alumni of SSJ, and owner of a dance
studio, will be bringing several dancers
for the performance. We have listened to
the story and watched a ballet DVD of the “Nutcracker”, so they will be
prepared to see the dancers.
CONFERENCE WEEK: I enjoyed meeting with
all of you last week. We do not have another conference time scheduled during
the school year, but you will receive 3 more report cards. If you ever have any
concerns about your child’s progress, or our curriculum, please feel free to
email me, or schedule another conference.
CHRISTMAS PLAY: The TYKE class will be
participating in the SSJ School Christmas Play which will be presented in the
evening on Thursday, December 19. Please let me know if your child will NOT be
present that night. We will be sending home the lyrics of our song soon.
Here is an overview of this week:
Religion: We will start a discussion of
the events leading up to the birth of Jesus.
Math: We will learn to recognize numbers
12-20.
Animal of the Week: Frog and geese.
SRA READING: We will be reviewing letters
Jj,Kk, Ll and Mm. We will also introduce the next High Frequency Word___in.
Please continue to have your child practice reading their sight words every
day.
Have a great week!
