Week of January 22,2013

 

Dear Parents,

 

OPEN HOUSE: The children are looking forward to showing you their work and our baby chicks at Open House. The day will begin with the celebration of a special Catholic Schools Week Mass at 9:15. After Mass, the classrooms will be open until 12 noon. A display of SSJ art will be in Colman Hall, including  “Snow Globes” painted by the TYKERS. Be sure to visit the kindergartens  so you can see what your child will be learning next year.

 

FARM PICTURES: Thank you to all the parents who sent in pictures for our Open House bulletin board. If you have not visited the farm, please do so before Sunday. I would like a picture of EVERY student on this special board.

 

Here is an overview of this week:

          Religion: Our topic for this week will be “ We Learn About God’s Love

                   With Our Friends.”

          Animal of the Week: We will continue to talk about farm animals.

 

SRA READING: We will be introducing the beginning and ending sounds of Hh, Nn,  and Tt and adding beginning consonants to ___ig and ___an.

We will also introduce the next pre-decodable.

Please review the beginning and ending sounds of Pp,Dd, Ss, Mm and Pp at home as well as our new sounds. Practice at home will help your child become a fluent reader.
