Week of December 5, 2011

Dear Parents,

CHRISTMAS PROGRAM: The TYKE students will be participating in the SSJ Christmas Program which is at 7:00 P.M., on Thursday,

December 15. Your children will be wearing an angel costume and we request that they wear white, or very light clothing under the costume. The girls can wear white tights. We will be greeting the guests in the foyer of the church before the performance and we will be singing Joy To The World at the conclusion of the show. I will let you know what time they will need to be at school that night in a future note.

If you know you will NOT be there that evening, PLEASE let me know as we are having several additional costumes made.

The words to our song are enclosed in your childs Tuesday Folder. Please have them memorize the words and sing it at home. You can download the music. If you have any questions see me.

Please remember to bring in candy, by December 12th for our Advent service project for Loaves and Fishes.  Your children will be making candy bags for the children attending the Christmas Breakfast at the Soup kitchen.

SRA READING: We are starting to learn the sounds of letters this week, beginning with Ss(sizzling sausages) and Mm (monkey munches).  We will be asking the children to differentiate the sound of S and M at the beginning and end of words.  We will also be introducing the High Frequency Word____see.  Please continue to have your child practice their sight words using flashcards. You can also ask your child to say words that begin with S and M. We will be moving at a fairly fast pace for the rest of the year and they need to practice these skills at home every day.

Religion: We will continue to talk about the Nativity.

Math: We will continue to match sets to numbers 1-10.

          Animal of the Week: Goose

Nursery Rhyme: Ride A Cock Horse.

Have a great week!
