Dear Parents,

 

THANK YOU: Thank you to our Room Mom, Heather Akoubian for planning our Week of November 3, 2014

 

Halloween Celebration, and the Moms that hosted on Friday. The children had a wonderful time.

 

THANK YOU: Thank you also to the parents who sat with us at the Mass on Tuesday. It is really helpful to have extra help when we go to Church.

 

NO SCHOOL: There will be NO SCHOOL on Friday or Monday.

 

CONFERENCES: Read the Principal’s Newsletter to find out all the details and where you sign up for a time for your conference. I will be testing the children on their 3 sight words this week. (a, and, the)

 

Here is an overview of this week:

 

Religion: We will be talking about the story of Noah’s Ark and the symbolism of the rainbow. Our “Seeds” lesson will focus on the reason we build Churches, the children’s experiences of going to Church, St.Francis, and Sunday’s Gospel which is the story of Jesus going to temple and finding people selling things.

 

Math: We will measure and order objects according to length.

 

Science: We will finish frogs and go to Geese and Hippos.

 

Ÿ  SRA READING: Please have your child practice reading their sight words. Our topics this week will include:

Ÿ  Introducing pre-decodable # 5.

Ÿ  Introduce High Frequency Word____in.

Ÿ  Review rhyming.

Ÿ  Review recognition of alphabet letters A-M.

Ÿ  Compare and contrast characters in 2 books.

Ÿ  Describe the relationship between illustrations and the story.
