Week of October 24,2011

Dear Parents,

HALLOWEEN: We will be having our Halloween Party THIS Friday, the same day as Trunk or Treat.  Remember you need to have all the Live Scan process completed to attend the parties.

SCARECROWS: The children had a great time assembling their scarecrows with their  7th grade friends. Hopefully, some of our pictures of that day will be featured on our school’s website.

CONFERENCES:  Parent teacher conferences are coming up soon. Please read the principal’s e-letter for more details. I have posted a few grades from rhyming papers on Gradelink.

Here is an overview of this week:

Religion: Our topic will be “Celebrate God’s Love

Through The Year.”  We will also be talking about

the Bible Story, “Loaves and Fishes.”

          Animal of the Week: Eagle

Math: We will continue to practice recognizing numbers

                   1-12.

SRA Reading:  This week we will be talking about the letters Ff,

Gg, Hh ,Jj and Kk. We will be introducing pre-decodable # 4.

I attended a workshop on Handwriting  on Saturday and they recommended using small golf size pencils for children. The small size makes them use a correct grip.  I would appreciate any golf size pencils for the classroom if  parents have  some they are not using.

Have a great week!
